Hi, everyone!

Whether you came here from my Instagram (@florentineviolet) or just happened upon my blog, welcome! My name is Florentine and I’m 20 years old. I’m currently studying Korean at university, but after I graduate (which will hopefully happen this year), I want to get an MA in Publishing or something else book-related. My dream is to live in a cosy country cottage, work at a publishing house and write books in my spare time. I see my future self sitting in an armchair by a fireplace, drinking a cup of tea, petting one of my three cats and reading a good book.

I’m a huge bookworm and I especially love classics and LGBTQ+ YA fiction. My favourite books are Persuasion by Jane Austen, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery and the A Series of Unfortunate Events series by Lemony Snicket (my childhood favourite, so it will always have a special place in my heart). My interests are, among other things, feminism, books, history, cats, art and exploring beautiful places.

I’ve wanted to become a writer for as long as I can remember. I’m currently writing a book, but I thought this blog would be a good way to write more freely about a wider range of topics.  On this blog I want to express my thoughts and ideas, something I feel I haven’t able to do fully on my Instagram, as it’s a very photo-focused platform. Here, I’ll be posting book/film reviews, DIYs, travel logs, recipes and much more. I want to use this blog to expand what I share on my Instagram, all things bookish, old-fashioned, cosy… in short, everything I love. Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you stick around!
